About Us
Aaron and I have a vision! We believe that bikes make our community stronger. We see the bike as the medium of our beliefs. If we can make our community stronger and healthier with bikes, we are all for it!
Aaron did his first bike tour when he was 12, RAGBRAI in Iowa. He continued with racing and participated in Ride the Rockies, each year until he went to college.
Bikes were just for fun until he got into his 30's. The 24-Hour and
multi-day mountain bike race scene rekindled the fire so he traveled to
Canada, Europe, Belize and South Africa and all over the US to race and
ride. Now that he is approaching 40, the reality check of not being
fast enough to compete but strong enough to ride long distances led
perfectly into touring, exploring and experiencing the world from a bike
seat. Besides, you get to see so much more when you aren't going fast.
Shawna was a late bike-bloomer. Moving from the city, the big San Juan mountains imprinted the bike lifestyle upon her. The mountains and deserts of the Southwest propelled the dreams of riding bikes for a living become a reality. You gotta do what you love. She has raced mountain bikes, done 24-hour races and triathlons to keep fit. Bike touring is the best way to see the countryside. The pace lends itself to slowing down. You aren't in a hurry, you can't be at 10 miles per hour. Biking is a way of life for this Colorado native and you can usually find her on the trails in the Roaring Fork valley in her Wheaties jersey.
